Unknown cue artist is 1st Pinoy to qualify in World 10-Ball meet

MANILA, Philippines – Unheralded Arnel Bautista became the first Filipino cue artist to earn a spot in the main draw of the World 10-Ball Championships after topping the third qualifying event at the Star Billiards Center in Quezon City.

Bautista topped Qualifier 3 after a 9-3 win over Taiwan’s Chu Hu-ming in the final match.

Bautista earned his place in the inaugural edition of the 10-ball event, which will be held at the Philippine International Convention Center (PICC) from September 29 to October 5, via the qualifying event.

A third bet from Taiwan also earned a spot in the 128-field main event.

Wang Kou-pin defeated compatriot Lu Hui-chan, 9-7, following the entry of teammates Chang Pei-Wei and Chang Yu-lung. – GMANews.TV
