There are several ways to navigate this timeline:

• scrolling up and down with your mouse scroller
• positioning your mouse on the extreme left and right
• dragging the white box on the bottom of the screen to the desired month
• dragging the timeline itself
• clicking on the desired month at the bottom of the screen

This is best viewed in full screen mode.
