Since his operation to make himself look more masculine, the 34-year-old Filipino-American Thomas Beatie has legally asserted his right to be called a man. Beatie, who was born Tracy Lagondino in Hawaii, gained international attention when he appeared on the Oprah Winfrey Show revealing the circumstances of his pregnancy and announced his scheduled date with the stork on July 3.

"(I consider this) an average pregnancy," Beatie told Oprah Winfrey on her show earlier this year.

Until that public confession, many of his partner Nancy’s relatives did not know she is married to a transgender.

Following his bizarre pregnancy, the New York Times called Beatie’s delivery as "partly a carnival sideshow and partly a glimpse at shifting sexual tectonics."
